Juan Carlos Aguirre – Get to know our research team

The Jean Monnet Research Project “The reconfiguration of the EU presence in Latin America”  – in short: @EUinLAC – brings together an interdisciplinary team of young and established scholars, balanced in gender and age. Today we present Juan Carlos Aguirre, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany:

Short bio – Juan Carlos Aguirre:

Juan Carlos Aguirre is a Political Scientist, M.A in International Studies and doctoral researcher at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg since October 2018. His research focuses on international politics in Latin America, foreign policy decision making and regional integration process. Juan Carlos Aguirre was advisor in interntional issues in different Ministries in Chile. He has also been a lecturer in international relations at various universities in Chile. Currently, he is Director of the Network of Chilean Researchers in Germany.

Breve bio – Juan Carlos Aguirre:

Juan Carlos Aguirre es politólogo, Máster en Estudios Internacionales e investigador doctoral en la Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg desde octubre de 2018. Su investigación se centra en la política internacional en América Latina, toma de decisiones en política exterior y procesos de integración regional. Juan Carlos Aguirre fue asesor en temas internacionales en distintos Ministerios en Chile. También ha sido profesor de Relaciones Internacionales en varias universidades de Chile. Actualmente, es Director de la Red de Investigadores Chilenos en Alemania.
