The Jean Monnet Research Project “The reconfiguration of the EU presence in Latin America”  – in short: @EUinLAC – brings together an interdisciplinary team of young and established scholars, balanced in gender and age. Short bio – Beatriz Larraín:

Beatriz Larrain Martinez is a professor at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad de Concepción where she teaches Introduction to Law, Sociology of Law and Philosophy of Law. She holds a PhD in Law, Politics and Society from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Her area of interest and research is the judicialisation of politics and judicial activism in Chile and the world. She is a member of the European Studies Programme of the Universidad de Concepción since its inception in 2002.

Beatriz Larrain Martinez es profesora de la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales de la Universidad de Concepción donde enseña Introducción al Derecho, Sociología Jurídica y Filosofía del Derecho. Tiene un PhD en Derecho Política y Sociedad de la Northeastern University en Boston, Massachusetts. Su area de interés e investigación es la judicialización de la política y el activismo judicial en Chile y el mundo. Es miembro del Programa de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad de Concepción desde sus inicios en 2002.
